I don't have a lot of experience with long form sonnets like this. It all really does seem to tie together, this exploration of the spiritual or religious and its connection to neurodiverse or neuroatypical experiences of life.
Thanks for reading Kristen. I wrote these a while ago and my poetry group thought they were a good first try. I don’t think they understood. I don’t think many people could understand, it’s very strange like the theology of the verb thing I wrote. I have an interest in expressing these disturbing aspects of my life and how I came to terms with them and what it tells me about religion and spirituality. It’s really personal.
I think your Twitter thread on the topic got a lot of attention and got people to stop and think about this topic more. I have difficulty being on Twitter sometimes and am taking a Twitter break right now. I may honestly wait to rejoin Twitter after I've spent more time on my own writing (I get distracted by the writing of others). I guess I'm just saying you have a good thing here and if you find the balance between writing and promoting/sharing let me know!
I sure would like to have seen what impact I might have had on twitter but it’s like it will have to remain out of sight to me. I would like to get back to writing more but I think I need to meditate or calm down more. I’m tempted to go back on twitter but I think I’ll ride it out and see how long I can go and do a mind cleanse. Good luck with your writing!
