SIX RECENTLY PUBLISHED PIECES
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to substack subscribers. I’ve been busy with newspaper work and other stuff so I haven’t really written much that fits in here. I have published a few things though, and I put links in here in case any of you would want to take a look. I never know how well these sorts of newsletters full of links do because my suspicion is that people don’t really enjoy them: linking to other places can be a nuisance from an email because then you have to get back to the email. Anyway I’m very sorry about that but this is what I’ve got for you at the moment.
The first grouping of links are to three prose pieces I would like to formulate into a book length work that might be a novel, might be a collection of stories — I don’t know but it feels like they belong together as it’s the latest “fictional” or “poetic” work that I’ve done recently:

Two interviews, one with Gabriel Hart and one with Joe Bielecki. They are both themselves interviewers and have important perspectives on the literary landscape from where I can see.

I have made commitments to review a few books that are really escaping from my control and I’m worried I won’t be able to get to them as soon as I would have liked. I’ve written here before about how sketchy doing reviews can be when people are depending on you and you’re trying to treat people with respect but you fall short. I’ve been overwhelmed with work and I have been fucking up on this score. I’m also dealing with some financial problems which will possibly interfere with my ability to go to Chicago in June for the Expat Press event that is going to take place there. Might have to sit this one out due to lack of funds for travel and hotel arrangements. I don’t know. That will really suck a rat’s ass since I really wanted to go and meet my heroes in the literary scene and socialize and hear the readings. But it may not come to pass and I’ll be stuck here in NY doing diddly shit like a jerk.
I enjoyed that Gabriel Hart interview a lot...
