My interview on my local radio station

I was asked to come on the radio and talk about my poetry book

For those who have always been curious what my voice sounds like, here is a radio interview I did on Halloween on WIOX FM, which is in the Catskills near where I live. The show is called “Spiritual Solutions,” and the host is a guy I know around here named William Duke. The show is intended to touch on spiritual subjects and I think I was asked to join to talk about writing as a spiritual practice, so that’s what we get into first. There’s a bit of limited talk about Christianity which is where I was raised, but we move on from that. I read some poems from my book Handcuffing the Venus De Milo, and I try clumsily to explain where it all comes from. It’s about an hour long, and as subscribers I thought you might be interested.

A note about my last substack post: a few people unsubscribed after my snarling remarks, which I feel bad about because they originally took a chance on me by subscribing in the first place. It’s not cool to tell people to fuck off. I don’t fully know where all that came from but I’ve felt like online has become an unpleasant place and I was talking about that.
