That was a painting I made a while back that I traded for a ticket to see Flying Lotus at Mass MOCA in the Pre-Wolven Times. I then shared it with Apocalypse Confidential who published it. The king title is a joke, partially. I need to paint more. Here’s another painting (you’re probably sick of seeing this but it’s current events).
I have gotten a blurb for this short story collection and I thought I’d let my subscribers see it before anyone else.
If you don’t know David Kuhnlein, you should make an effort to pick up one or all of his books, especially Die Closer to Me and Bloodletter, both fiction. This blurb from him was stellar, in my opinion, and came when I was having a rather abysmal day so it meant a lot to me. My best guess is that The Calendar Factory will be published some time next month.
I got a new piece of art! Adam Johnson, my friend who I’m looking forward to meeting in the real world in NYC tomorrow, along with a lot of other Twitter zombies from indie lit — sent me this Sam Pink drawing as a gift, and I finally got it framed.
The other art on the wall are drawings of mine and the painting with the disembodied eyeballs is my daughter’s. The book stack on the shelf bears some scrutiny as it contains a mix of dead masters and living indie lit people I’ve read over the past 12 months or so.
Speaking of reading, here’s a recent poem that appeared in Don’t Submit!
That is all for this time around. I’ll have more substantial news later as my collection and other projects take shape. Read a book and stay hydrated!
I'm really excited to read The Calendar Factory!
That is one hell of a blurb.
